CHASTITY
TRAINING – ABSTINENCE UNTIL MARRIAGE! NEXT TRAINING SESSION -- November 8, 2008 Today, young people of all backgrounds are having more sex, more babies, more abortions—at an earlier age than ever before. Pre-marital sex affects a person’s physical, emotional, spiritual, social, mental and moral development. A survey revealed that nearly 25% of American infants were born to unmarried mothers; 70% of unwed teen mothers go on welfare. It is a fact that 60% of teens who marry because of pregnancy divorce within five years of marriage. One in four sexually active teens will contract a venereal disease before they finish high school; and that sexually transmitted diseases have the highest rate of incidence in the ten to nineteen year old group.
Contemporary
culture relentlessly preaches a marriage of sexual amorality, undermining
the traditional conviction that sex should be reserved until marriage.
Television, movies, magazines, and popular music today are reaching the
saturation point with material that only a generation ago would almost
universally been labeled pornography. As a result, adolescents daily hear
countless seductive voices insisting that casual sex is normal and
desirable, and that society has no firm normal standards by which to judge
sexual behavior.
Our Goal is to teach young people that abstinence until marriage is the only way to be pleasing to God and to avoid unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases. We encourage 5 commitments: 1) To God; 2) To Yourself; 3) To Family; 4) To Friends and 5) To Your Future Mate and Children.
The Program is accredited through the W. L. Bonner College in Columbia, South Carolina.
I Thessalonians 4:2-4 à For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus. For this is the Will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor.
I Corinthians 6:17-20 à But he that is joined unto the Lord is One Spirit. Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
